Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and shop math competencies
  • Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, suppliers, and plant leadership

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary or trades / technical education and certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Select and change wheel, shoes, drivers, diamonds & fixtures, loading plugs and balance wheel.
  • Set size, parallel, drop, cycle time, set gauges with proper master ball from Q.A., loading and unloading plugs, loading chute, Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
  • Load parts in chute or place on fixture, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality characteristics of part per print specifications throughout machining operations.
  • Empty parts pan at dress cycle.
  • Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork including SPC charting.
  • Move parts to and from work area and scale as needed.
  • Wash parts before running.
  • Maintain all machine fluid levels
  • Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications
  • Ring test abrasive wheels prior to mounting.
