About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is hiring a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3 for its microelectronics and electromechanical production team in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The role focuses on precision mechanical and electromechanical assembly of small, high-value microelectronic and opto-mechanical components, particularly laser sealing and hermetic packages. Work takes place in a cleanroom or controlled environment and includes repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks, hermeticity testing, and vacuum baking. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, fine-motor dexterity, and comfort working under magnification with tight-tolerance hardware. The assembler sets up and operates laser-seal equipment and fixtures, prepares and assembles packages, conducts helium and gross/fine leak testing, and runs vacuum-bake cycles. The role also includes inspecting assemblies, supporting rework and basic troubleshooting, interpreting technical documentation, using production data systems, and recording work and test results in accordance with quality procedures. The employee must follow cleanroom, ESD, FOD, chemical-handling, and other safety procedures. This is a first-shift position with either a 9/80 schedule (6:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., every other Friday off) or a 5/40 schedule (6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Monday–Friday). Overtime may be required, and weekend work may be applicable. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; clearance is not required to start. Relocation assistance and travel are not available or required, respectively.
