About The Position

The Precast CAD Designer creates accurate, detailed erection drawings for EFCO forming systems, including moderately complex drawings for custom and standard jobs. The role works with engineers and project teams to resolve layout and design challenges, ensure drawing quality, and meet EFCO standards. The designer also serves as a contact for project-related questions, supports drawing clarity and schedule awareness, mentors junior drafters, and contributes to improvements in drafting standards and procedures. The position requires minimal supervision and is classified as on-site.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of drafting or engineering experience.
• Proficiency with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to regularly perform job functions at the company office or designated worksite.
• Ability to perform the listed physical and mental tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Familiarity with database systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop moderately complex erection drawings for custom and standard jobs.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to resolve layout issues and ensure drawing quality.
• Identify and resolve design issues using sound judgment and creativity while aligning solutions with project needs and EFCO standards.
• Serve as a key contact for project-related questions and support drawing clarity, schedule awareness, and internal alignment.
• Support onboarding and technical development of junior drafters.
• Promote consistent drafting practices and professionalism across the team.
• Contribute to reviewing and improving EFCO drafting standards and procedures.
• Maintain accuracy and responsibility in documentation and process updates.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational goals and priorities.
