About The Position

Facilitates the day to day operation of the referrals under the direction of the Clinical Director. Notifies the referral source in a timely manner that the referral was received. Acknowledges all the referrals with a commitment that states when the patient will be evaluated. Talks to the patient, the patient’s family, and the referral source face-to-face if possible. Educates the patient and family regarding IRF Services including: What they can expect, How does it differ from other choices, explain the various types of “rehab” offered in the community, What are the rights and responsibilities of the patient/family (Right to participate in the rehab discharge decision, Participation in therapy, Rehabilitation nursing carryover of activities), What are the goals of inpatient rehab program.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current licensure in the State of Arkansas.
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Minimum of two years clinical experience as an RN in a Medical/Surgical Unit.
2-5 years clinical experience as an RN in a Rehabilitation Unit.
Demonstrates leadership abilities.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to assess the patient’s medical and functional status.
Ability to assess the risk for clinical and rehabilitation complications.
Ability to assess other aspects of the patient’s condition both medically and functionally.
