About The Position

Think Academy is looking for a Pre-School Mathematics Tutor to join their team as soon as possible. The tutor will be responsible for teaching students in a group class format, delivering high-quality and engaging education in an in-person setting. The role involves using Think Academy's curriculum to teach mathematics to pre-school and lower elementary level students, fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and identifying individual learning needs.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • All majors are welcomed, Education and Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Must have a reliable transportation to teach in-person at Irvine campus.
  • Must have consistent availability on weekday afternoons and either Saturday or Sunday.
  • Must be able to commit to at least one whole semester of teaching without interruption.
  • Spring Semester: January - May
  • Summer Semester: June - August
  • Fall Semester: August - December

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of math concepts as well as problem-solving techniques.
  • Recent graduate with a bachelors in Education or related majors is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience, especially in mathematics, is highly preferred.
  • Strong passion and interest in teaching and the education industry to align with our mission to provide better education for all students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Reliable, Hard-Working, and Responsible.
  • Enjoys working and communicating with younger children.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging lessons in English for Pre-School/Lower Elementary Level Mathematics to our students using Think Academy's curriculum.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom learning environment for classes of roughly 8 - 12 students.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by providing personalized guidance to students.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas of concerns.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences/meetings as needed to discuss their student's performance.
  • Assist grade-level manager in designing and holding students activities.
  • Conduct math level assessments and other student enrollment activities.
