About The Position

The Town of East Gwillimbury is seeking a Pre-School and Children's Instructor to join the Recreation and Culture Division. This role is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of recreation activities for children aged 18 months to 12 years old. Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Experience working with children, preferably in a recreational setting.
Availability/flexibility to work daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certificate or willing to obtain prior to employment.
Vulnerable Sector Police Check is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience planning and implementing program plans is considered an asset.
HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Childhood Development (considered an asset).

Responsibilities

Plan and lead instructional programs for children.
Set-up and Clean-up of any supplies needed for the program.
Communicate with participants and parents.
Report any issues, concerns, or areas of development to the Recreation Coordinator.
Complete class certificates and achievement awards if necessary.
Create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for all participants.
Perform all activities in a safe manner, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, along with Corporate Safety policies, procedures and programs.
Use and maintain in good condition all necessary personal protective equipment.
