About The Position

The Pre-Sales Engineer – IDT EAT-RFID serves as a key technical advisor and customer-facing specialist supporting HID Global’s Americas region. This role partners closely with Sales, Channel Partners, and End-Users as a strategic technical partner to understand business and technical requirements, design scalable solutions, and support the full sales cycle from qualification through technical validation. The Pre-Sales Engineer acts as the technical authority for assigned opportunities, jointly accountable with Sales for technical success and responsible for validating solution integrity, scalability, and compliance with HID security standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, presentation skills, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting.
  • Experience with identity management, authentication technologies, hardware, and related software.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of microprocessors, PC integration, and semiconductor hardware/software is preferred.
  • Experience with credential technologies such as Mobile Keys, Apple VAS, Apple Wallet, and Google Wallet is preferred.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading technical discussions to assess customer requirements and designing scalable HID solutions.
  • Supporting the full sales cycle including qualification, positioning, demonstrations, and solution validation.
  • Delivering product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Analyzing customer environments and architecting end-to-end identity and access solutions.
  • Providing technical input and scoping validation for proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), and Proof of Concepts (PoC), including assumptions, dependencies, and technical success criteria.
  • Ensuring solutions comply with HID security standards and best practices, identifying technical risk that requires additional discovery, validation, or design adjustment.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Support teams to deliver customer success.
  • Delivering technical training and enablement to sales teams, partners, integrators, and end-users as required.
  • Identifying and escalating engineering design opportunities and recurring customer requirements through established Product Management or Engineering channels.
  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, balancing responsiveness with solution quality and long-term customer success.
