About The Position

The Pre-Press Tech will be responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of pages and plans for Hearst Newspaper Publications. This role involves working directly with all staff to meet posted schedules and ensuring files are press-ready. This may include collaborating with internal and external customers to resolve issues related to fonts/links, bleeds, trim, overprint settings, and color conversion, as well as generating new PDFs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively under pressure to maintain press schedules. Proficiency in Adobe applications and a general understanding of prepress functionality are required. Experience with CUE Print and NewsWay is preferred. Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, are expected. While prior pre-press experience is preferred, training will be provided for those who lack it.
