About The Position

Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is preferred.
