About The Position

The Flood Law Firm, a rapidly growing personal injury law firm in Connecticut, is seeking motivated law school graduates to join its Pre-Litigation team in fall 2027. Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, with an anticipated graduation date in spring 2027.
• Planning to take the July 2027 Connecticut Bar Exam or otherwise pursuing admission to the Connecticut Bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional client service.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and develop strong legal and professional skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Admission to the Connecticut Bar will be required to practice as an attorney.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated interest in personal injury law, litigation, or client advocacy is preferred.
• Prior personal injury experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a personal injury caseload from inception through pre-suit settlement or transition into litigation, with guidance and support from experienced attorneys.
• Develop strong client relationships through regular communication regarding case status, medical treatment, and the legal process.
• Evaluate liability, damages, medical treatment, insurance coverage, and other relevant case issues.
• Conduct regular case reviews, identify potential challenges, and develop appropriate strategies to move cases forward.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
• Identify cases that are appropriate and ready for litigation and draft complaints to initiate lawsuits.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to effectively manage and advance cases.
• Participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to strengthen your legal knowledge, judgment, and advocacy skills.
