About The Position

We are looking for a Pre-Litigation Attorney to take ownership of a personal injury pre-litigation docket in our Dallas, Texas office. This is a hands-on role for a lawyer who gets a real kick out of turning a stack of medical records into a life-changing result for someone who needed it—and who wants to do it with senior attorneys and mentors in their corner rather than on an island. This is a pre-litigation role—not a courtroom role. You will manage your cases from post-intake through settlement, working alongside experienced pre-litigation and trial attorneys who will mentor you on case selection, medical build-up, valuation, and negotiation. When a case needs to be litigated, you will spot it and hand it to our litigation team. Skilled treatment and negotiations paralegals will handle day-to-day case needs under your direction; demand writers, medical records specialists, lien specialists, legal assistants, and closers will help carry the administrative load. Your time stays where it belongs: on the facts, the medicine, the demand, and the result.

Requirements

  • Texas License: Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of personal injury experience (plaintiff or defense).
  • Personal Injury Skills: Hands-on experience evaluating liability and coverage, working with medical records and treatment, valuing claims, and negotiating with adjusters.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage a robust docket of cases and people at once, meet every deadline, and catch the details where cases are won or lost.
  • Communication: Clear and effective in writing and on the phone—with clients, adjusters, medical providers, and fellow attorneys and paralegals—over the phone and in person.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with legal research databases, case management software, and modern legal technology, including responsible use of artificial intelligence.
  • A Good Heart: A real desire to advocate for injured people, maximize their recoveries, and enjoy the work. Engaging, straightforward, and committed to the people we serve.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with motor vehicle, commercial trucking, or premises liability cases
  • Familiarity with lien and subrogation resolution
  • Prior litigation experience—knowing how a case plays out in a courtroom makes you sharper at valuing and settling it
  • A record of results you're proud to talk about
  • Spanish speaking a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage Your Pre-Litigation Docket: Own a docket of personal injury cases in pre-lit—developing liability, coverage, and damages theories and keeping every file moving toward settlement.
  • Evaluate the Cases: Work up liability, coverage, and damages on new matters and make the recommendation on what moves forward, what gets rejected, and what needs special handling.
  • Guide Treatment: Work with treatment paralegals and treating providers to understand our clients' injuries, treatment, and future care needs, and make sure the medical build-up supports the case.
  • Build the Demand: Review and approve demand packages before they go out—pressure-testing liability, confirming coverage, verifying the medical picture, and setting the settlement range you and your negotiators work within.
  • Drive Settlement: Value cases, direct your negotiations paralegals, and step in with adjusters directly to maximize recovery—and recognize when a case has hit its ceiling and belongs in litigation.
  • Protect the Client's Net: Review reduction worksheets and final distributions, and work with lien specialists to resolve hospital, health-plan, ERISA, Medicare, and Medicaid liens cleanly.
  • Lead Your Team: Direct and support your assigned paralegals and assistants, setting the standard for excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Serve as Client Advocate: Be the trusted voice for clients at the hardest moments of their lives—keeping them informed and advising them on treatment, progress, and settlement decisions with clarity and compassion.
  • Grow as a Personal Injury Lawyer: Learn from senior attorneys, take on increasing responsibility and case value, and contribute your own ideas to how we build and settle cases across Texas.
