About The Position

As a Pre kindergarten teacher at Stratford School, you're responsible for creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for children between the ages of 4 and 5. You will provide a warm, caring, joyful environment that encourages preschoolers’ natural curiosity, and instills confidence in their innate abilities. You will help prepare them for Kindergarten! You will also… Plan, supervise and implement curriculum of reading, writing, and math. Collaborate with other faculty and staff members. Communicate daily with parents or guardians. Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment.

Requirements

• Educational background with 12 semesters or 18 quarter early childhood education units shall include courses that cover the general areas of early child development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum or a bachelor’s degree in child development
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language.
• Often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
• Regularly hear and use clear vision with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience with young students is preferred
