About The Position
AVON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking an Interim Pre-K Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position requires a candidate who can prepare instructional resources, develop and implement lesson plans, and provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. The teacher will also be responsible for case management of students with IEPs and 504 plans. Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, certifications, transcripts, and three letters of reference.
Requirements
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers Pre-K (112, 113).
- College or university degree with a concentration in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's curriculum, particularly the Pre-K disciplines.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s).
- Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
- Case management for students on IEPs and 504 plans.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
