Pre-K Teacher
About The Position
New Horizon Academy is seeking a Pre-K Teacher to join its Leawood team. The teacher will support children's learning and development in a classroom, working alongside a caring team and with support from knowledgeable staff. The role involves helping children develop a love of learning and contributing to their social and emotional development. The position requires a full-time weekday schedule, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The starting hourly wage is $17.40, with increases based on relevant experience and education. A hiring bonus is available to eligible applicants.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience working in an early childhood education setting.
- Experience in early childhood education and classroom management.
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Positive work ethic and a team-centered attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow as an educator.
- Passion for working with young children.
- Meet or exceed state qualifications for the position.
- Ability to satisfy the Applicant Background Study required by state regulations.
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Physical ability to perform required job duties, with or without accommodations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff, and to understand state licensing regulations and company policies.
