About The Position

Due to the growth of our Preschool program, we are excited to be able to open an additional classroom! Austin Tracy Elementary is a PK-6th Grade Elementary School located in Lucas, KY. We are approximately 10 miles from Glasgow, KY and within 30 minutes drive from Bowling Green, KY. We are proud to serve the Austin Tracy community! The Preschool Teacher plays a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning and development. This position involves creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children ages 3–5 in a public school setting. Preschool teachers foster curiosity, build social-emotional skills, and support the academic and personal growth of each child while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.

Requirements

• Valid state preschool teaching credential or bachelor's degree in early childhood education
• Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Experience working with diverse learners
• Experience with early literacy and numeracy instruction
• Training in trauma-informed or social-emotional learning practices

Responsibilities

• Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with state early learning standards
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that celebrates diversity
• Support social-emotional development and facilitate positive peer interactions
• Manage classroom behavior and implement positive discipline strategies consistent with school and district policies
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about child progress, milestones, and concerns
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student development using district-approved systems
• Collaborate with special education staff, speech/language pathologists, and other support services to meet individual student needs
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources
• Supervise students during transitions, outdoor play, meals, and other activities
• Attend professional development workshops and staff meetings
• Participate in curriculum planning and school improvement initiatives
