About The Position

The Pre-K Paraprofessional at St. Clement of Rome Catholic School supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool students. This role assists with daily instruction, student supervision, and classroom organization while supporting the Catholic mission and early childhood educational goals of the school.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Clement of Rome Catholic School.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
Dependability and a positive, nurturing demeanor.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

Support the Pre-K teacher with daily classroom instruction, activities, and routines.
Assist in supervising students during classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, lunch, and dismissal to ensure safety and positive behavior.
Help prepare instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom resources.
Support students’ social, emotional, physical, and academic development through positive guidance and encouragement.
Reinforce classroom rules, routines, and behavior expectations consistently and respectfully.
Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Provide individual or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and administration regarding student needs or classroom activities.
Uphold confidentiality, school policies, and diocesan guidelines.
Model appropriate behavior aligned with Catholic values and the mission of the school.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
