About The Position

The Pre-K Counts Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with educational goals. This role involves creating lesson plans and daily schedules, establishing a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and providing engaging instruction in various subjects. The teacher will also assess and monitor the developmental progress of each child, adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs, and maintain open communication with parents. Ensuring the health and safety of children, facilitating creative activities, and fostering an understanding of cultural diversity are key aspects of this position. The role also requires ongoing assessment and documentation of children's progress, as well as staying informed about current early childhood education trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • PA Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Completed background check.
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a preschool teacher or in a similar role preferred.

  • Incorporate play-based learning to enhance social and cognitive skills.
  • Organize and supervise outdoor play and physical activities.
  • Create opportunities for gross motor skill development.
  • Foster an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
  • Integrate multicultural perspectives into classroom activities.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of individual student achievements.
  • Stay informed about current early childhood education trends and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
