About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a Pre-K Lead Teacher for their Before and After School Programs at Uriah Hill Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both program shifts. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and adhering to state and program policies. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and patience, encourages curiosity, and works well with teammates and families. This role is particularly suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors, or retirees looking to stay active and mentor children.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field.
  • Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period (with 1 year of experience).
  • 9 Credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 2 years of experience).
  • Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
