The Pre-K Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Pre-K Teacher in planning and conducting developmentally appropriate activities for up to 15 children ages 3–5, including children with special needs. The role helps create a safe, appropriate environment where children can develop personal relationships, social and self-help skills, and problem-solving abilities. The assistant maintains a clean, orderly physical environment, supervises classroom activities, and participates in parent education and involvement. Assignments may include various classrooms, centers, and tasks as needed to meet program goals and ensure regulatory compliance. This position depends on renewal of the Nevada Pre-K annual grant. If the grant is not renewed, the employee will remain employed by Sunrise Children’s Foundation, but the position and salary may change. The position works in childcare centers, offices, and client homes, with possible exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases and moderate to loud noise. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, crouching, sitting on the floor, and using hands and fingers to manipulate equipment. Employees must uphold the organization’s Safety Program, including attending training, reporting hazards, and addressing spills and other safety concerns. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
