About The Position

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a pre-doctoral researcher to collaborate with Professor Corinne Low on projects focused on workplace access and participation in both the US and developing countries. These projects have included measuring hiring bias, examining changes in women's labor force participation, studying household production division, and modeling the impact of assisted reproduction technology on careers. The successful candidate will join Wharton’s Department of Business Economics and Public Policy (BEPP) as part of a predoctoral research fellow cohort, benefiting from opportunities for personal and professional development, including learning new technical skills, attending seminars, and taking courses. There is potential for predoc RAs to become co-authors of academic papers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Ability to process and analyze large data sets and write reports
  • Self-directed, intrinsically motivated, capacity to manage work independently and organize workflows across multiple projects

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a research analyst or conducting independent research using statistical software such as STATA or R is preferred
