About The Position

We are looking for a full-time research assistant to perform laboratory experiments at Massachusetts General Hospital within the Laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Green for preferably 1-2 years as able. The aim of the project is to understand how neuron types in the cerebral cortex contribute to error detection and learning. Performing molecular profiling of brain slices. The project will be in collaboration with other scientists working on imaging neural activity and behavior, with ample opportunities to learn about these techniques. Experience working with cellular and molecular techniques in a research laboratory is necessary as and experience working with rodents in a neuroscience lab is ideal. This role is designed for candidates who plan to pursue advanced graduate studies (e.g., a Ph.D. or M.D.) and offers an opportunity to engage in rigorous research projects under the mentorship of leading scholars. The position provides hands-on experience in research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing, making it an excellent stepping-stone for future educational and research careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
  • Experience working with cellular and molecular techniques in a research laboratory is necessary
  • Proficient time-management and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical research protocols.
  • Must possess proficient analytical skills.
  • Proficient in critical thinking and data analysis abilities.
  • Desire to work both objectively and lead within a team unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
  • Experience working with rodents in a neuroscience lab is ideal
  • Previous Research Lab Experience 0-1 year preferred
  • Research Related Experience 0-1 year preferred
  • New grad with some relevant coursework 0-1 year preferred
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work objectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Collaborate on research projects, contributing to study design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews to summarize existing research in the field.
  • Develop and maintain datasets for research purposes.

  • Assist in the preparation of teaching or training materials as needed.
