About The Position

The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for administering pre-construction high voltage engineering services for all generation and data center projects starting in the early to mid-development phase through the start of construction. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure that all high voltage scope, budgets, and processes are in conformity with Geronimo Power’s established policies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with engineering and construction
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with project development and design (preferably renewable energy and data center experience)
  • Proficient knowledge of high voltage concepts and equipment
  • Basic understanding of EPC and equipment contracts
  • Proven ability to organize and manage several projects at various stages of development
  • Excellent knowledge of construction concepts and practices
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using programs such as Microsoft Office, Procore, AutoCAD, and database management systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and review of preliminary high voltage engineering designs and strategy, with both internal and external resources
  • Serve as the Company's subject matter expert for high-voltage systems, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead coordination with interconnecting utilities on data center projects, determining high voltage equipment strategy and ramp schedule
  • Support power and data center project optimization with Energy Modeling, Development, Financial Modeling, and Procurement groups to develop the optimal project design and execution strategy
  • Coordinate with Estimating for project budgeting on all high voltage scope
  • Provide support to internal teams for customer RFP (request for proposal) responses
  • Evaluate EPC and equipment bids for both compliance with RFP requirements and selecting the optimal vendor or technology
  • Support both EPC and equipment contracting negotiations
  • Support Development with landowner discussions for design considerations
  • Coordinate with Procurement for substation and transmission equipment considerations and strategy
  • Represent Geronimo Power at appropriate industry conferences and community stakeholder meetings, participating in discussions and providing comments if needed
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
