About The Position

This position is part of the Pre-Award Shared Services (PASS) team, offering an opportunity to join experienced pre-award administrators at a top-tier research institution. The role involves working with leading-edge faculty to develop ideas and support medical research. The position is eligible to work remotely within the United States, with an option to work from the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • At least one (1) year of professional grant or contract experience (for Intermediate Level).
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency with web applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic Research Administration tools such as InfoEd and eRA Commons.
  • Experience working in an academic environment or medical center.
  • Previous grant and/or contract experience.
  • Previous research administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing budgets.
  • Proficiency with PeopleSoft (HRMS &/or Finance).

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty in the preparation and submission of National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs) and Veterans Administration Intergovernmental Personnel Act Agreements (IPAs).
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of National Institutes of Health and University policies related to grants management, such as personnel effort reporting, Current and Pending Support, Notice of Award review, and progress report requirements.
  • Prepare budgets using Microsoft Excel and university personnel systems; budgets may then be transferred to the appropriate sponsor format for submission with reports and agreements.
  • Ensure that all assigned work meets internal and external deadlines.
  • Communicate reporting requirements clearly and thoroughly to Principal Investigators and administrators; interpret university and sponsor guidance accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and external regulations related to research funding and grant submissions.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, including submission of full research grant applications under the direction of and with review by intermediate, senior, manager, or Director-level staff.
