About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for managing pre-award activities for the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences within the Grants Team, using your knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills. You will contribute information and ideas related to your areas of responsibility as part of a cross-functional team and perform pre-award activities while ensuring effective and efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards for faculty and staff. You will assist departmental faculty and Principal Investigators (PIs) in the development, preparation, and submission of grant and contract proposals. You will ensure all applications meet agency and university guidelines and published timetables and deadlines, including management of the Just-In-Time process. You will ensure proposals are entered and routed in a timely manner for further review and confer with PIs and pre-award support staff at collaborating institutions to secure necessary sub-award documents for proposals. You will assist PIs in the development of budgets and budget justifications, including proofing budgets for inconsistencies and ensuring accuracy. You will review budgets for consistency with sponsor requirements, monitor compliance with agency and university regulations regarding submission, and verify all financial information, including application of the appropriate overhead rate for each project. You will advise PIs on administrative requirements related to proposal submissions and on budget adjustments and revisions necessary to meet sponsor requirements. You will coordinate and review proposal elements, including biosketches and facilities and resources documents, for consistency, accuracy, and completeness. You will review proposals for consistency with sponsor guidelines regarding budgets, format, font size, and page limits, excluding narrative content, and obtain and review sponsor guidelines as needed. You will monitor and facilitate the proposal process through routing in compliance with university procedures and institutional signature requirements, obtain signatures as needed, and work effectively with other offices, including central, school, department, division, and RAS units, on research proposals. You will prepare high-quality written documents, analyze data and formulate conclusions, review and process award documents through the routing process in compliance with university procedures, provide training to individuals throughout the college responsible for grant post-award management, and perform related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting or (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
