About The Position
The Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgery Department at Avita Ontario Hospital is responsible for conducting pre-admission testing appointments or phone calls for patients scheduled for surgery. This includes gathering medical history, medication history, and reviewing orders for necessary lab work, x-rays, and other tests to ensure appropriate care prior to the date of surgery. The RN implements the policies and procedures of the Surgery Department to ensure the appropriateness of care for all patients.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the operating room.
Responsibilities
- See patients for Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) appointments.
- Place PAT phone calls, if appropriate, for patients scheduled for surgery.
- Conduct pre-admission medical history and medication history reviews.
- Review and ensure appropriateness of lab, x-ray, and/or other orders.
- Implement policies and procedures of the Surgery Department to ensure the appropriateness of care for all patients.
