About The Position

The Site Manager is responsible for the business operations of the physician practice. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of a physician practice, including hiring, training, and supervising employees. The position also ensures compliance with various healthcare regulations and standards, handles patient check-in/checkout, manages telephone communications, performs clerical duties, maintains medical records, and assists with prescription refills. The Site Manager also provides backup for business office functions and communicates effectively with team members, physicians, and patients, while maintaining cost consciousness. Additionally, this role includes responsibility for managing a satellite office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or clinical field preferred OR minimum of five years of prior experience in a medical office
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a medical office or front office responsibilities
  • Experience in medical office information systems, electronic billing, and other automated functions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/CPT coding, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and worker's compensation needed.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, and supervises employees.
  • Works to assure practice compliance with JCAHO, FLSA, CLlA, OSHA, ADA, EEO, and licensure requirements for physician practice.
  • Completes check in and checkout procedure utilizing the medical office information system.
  • Answers incoming telephone communication and routes to appropriate source within the practice.
  • Completes basic clerical duties, such as filing, typing, etc.
  • Receives mail, makes appropriate copies, and routes to appropriate source.
  • Maintains accurate medical records
  • Calls in prescriptions with physicians' approval.
  • Provides back up for all practice-based business office functions.
  • Communicates clearly and appropriately with team members, physician(s), and patients.
