About The Position

The Practice RN provides patient care in an urgent care setting through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, collaborating with the healthcare team to support individualized care plans. The role delivers high-quality care and customer service with respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy, and coordinates individualized care for patients across all age groups. The practice is open Sunday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the successful candidate must be able to work any day of the week during those hours. VelocityCare staff are required to float to other VelocityCare locations to assist with staffing. The RN completes and documents age-specific assessments, administers treatments and medications, documents care in electronic medical records, and incorporates patient and family education needs into care plans. The role also contributes to quality and performance improvement, advocates for patients, applies knowledge of growth and development, and uses clinical expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The RN supports peers, students, team members, and new employees through role modeling, feedback, orientation, and training, while managing resources, prioritizing tasks, and participating in department, hospital, and system initiatives.

Requirements

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing-approved program.
At least 1 year of clinical experience, with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise.
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AHA BLS-HCP certification.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to successfully complete orientation and competency validation.
Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to the role.
For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe.

Nice To Haves

ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on the assigned work area.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver individualized patient care across all age groups.
