About The Position

The Clinical Practice Nurse 1 reports to the Clinical Leader or Clinical Manager and works under the direction of practice providers. The nurse delivers high-quality patient care, including assessment, treatment, planning, and evaluation. The role applies knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to assess clinical data and identify patients’ age-specific needs. The nurse builds caring relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, collaborates with the healthcare team, and uses sound judgment when performing nursing interventions.

The position is in Internal Medicine and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

• Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
• New Hampshire Board of Nursing license.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification or Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers certification.
• Ability to interact effectively and positively with multidisciplinary staff, patients, and others.

Responsibilities

• Organize daily activities by establishing priorities and maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Triage patient phone calls according to established guidelines and formats, identify health problems or concerns, and provide quality patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications.
• Educate patients in response to identified needs.
• Document health information, interventions, and outcomes in the patient electronic medical record.
• Delegate patient care activities using the five rights—task, person, direction, circumstance, and supervision—and ensure completion, documentation, and feedback to the delegatee and manager.
• Apply purposeful, organized thinking based on the nursing process to make sound clinical judgments and decisions.
• Complete practice-specific clinical skill competencies annually.
