About The Position

The Practice Manager role provides operational leadership for the Bourbon, Cuba, and Steelville clinics, with a primary office location in Cuba and some travel to surrounding clinics and the MBSH campus. The manager oversees daily workflow, supervises front- and back-office staff, PSRs, and clinical team members, and supports six providers across sites. The position partners with the clinic administrative team to ensure standard work, value-based care, and BIC measures, while maintaining alignment with BJC Values. Previous managerial experience and strong leadership skills are required. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers. The Sullivan medical clinic is a well-established, multi-discipline physician group providing family, internal and OB care. The Practice Manager is assigned to an ambulatory site working under the guidance of a Practice Administrator and is responsible for the day-to-day clinic operations. Responsibilities include: direct supervision of approximately 15-25 clinical and non-clinical staff, managing patient experience and supporting/coordinating financial and administrative activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years experience
  • < 2 years Supervisor Experience
  • Previous managerial experience and strong leadership skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed.
  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets.
  • Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Respond to patient complaints and engages in service recovery; analyzes and determines necessity to elevate the complaint based on situation, monitors patient satisfaction metrics and takes action as needed to ensure operational success.
  • Leads and collaborates with staff to ensure a cohesive work environment in support of highly engaged and productive workforce.
  • Address employee relations concerns and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Leads and participates in daily huddles and rounding for facilitation of patient flow to ensure patient, employee and provider satisfaction.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to department standard work and procedures.
  • Available for immediate and timely response to barriers or obstacles to daily workflows.
  • Escalates issues as appropriate via established processes to ensure timely resolution.
