About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is opening a new multi-disciplinary hospital in South Austin, TX, and is seeking an experienced, caring, and results-driven Practice Manager. This role is crucial for handling the day-to-day operations of the practice to ensure the staff can provide the best veterinary care. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work effectively with clinicians, staff, and referring veterinarians. The position involves interacting with referring veterinarians through personal visits, CE programs, and phone discussions. The new facility will be equipped with advanced technology and planned specialty services including emergency, internal medicine, critical care, surgery, and cardiology. BluePearl emphasizes collaborative work, work-life balance, and continuous learning through training programs and continuing education seminars.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of proven success in managing professionals in complex organizations, either within veterinary/human medicine, hospitality, or client services industries.
  • Excellent time management, follow through and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously, giving great attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to completely maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Skilled in use of MS Office Suite, internet (Google) applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • CVPM designation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, develop, and lead a team of 30+ hourly and professional team members to excel and become a successful team focused on patient care.
  • Partner with and oversee the doctor team, medical team, and client service representatives, guiding them to the next level of development.
  • Guide the financial and strategic business development to achieve hospital profitability.
  • Expertly handle the primary care DVM and patient referral base with a high level of sensitivity.
  • Develop intra-staff relationships with a command of HR-related issues and state, federal, local legal compliance of relevant employment law.
