About The Position

Animal Wellness Center in Crozet, VA is looking for an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to guide their team through an exciting period of growth and transition. This is a unique opportunity for a strong, people-first leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact on both team culture and hospital performance. The Practice Manager is responsible for creating a positive, collaborative environment where veterinarians and staff can deliver high-quality medicine and exceptional client care. In partnership with hospital leadership and the Regional Operations Manager, you will lead daily operations, support team development, and drive both cultural and financial success for the practice. This role will play a key part in supporting ongoing leadership transitions within the hospital, making prior management experience especially important.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a management role (veterinary experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide teams through change
  • Strong emotional intelligence and a people-first leadership style
  • Experience managing financials such as payroll, budgeting, and inventory
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to delegate effectively and drive accountability within a team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort with Microsoft and ability to learn practice management software

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting a dedicated veterinary team in a collaborative, team-first environment
  • Managing and coordinating overall hospital operations with a balance of structure and flexibility
  • Partnering with the Regional Operations Manager to build long-term vision and goals
  • Developing team members through coaching, feedback, and regular check-ins
  • Creating a strong, positive culture rooted in quality patient care and exceptional client service
  • Overseeing financial performance including payroll, inventory, pricing, and revenue growth
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, DEA, and other regulatory standards
  • Playing a key role in guiding the hospital through an important period of transition and growth
