About The Position

The Surgical Services Practice Manager is responsible for the management, direction, supervision, and coordination of all practice activities within a large and dynamic Ophthalmology practice, except those directly involving professional medical judgment. This individual is also responsible for the day-to-day operational, financial, human and other resource management, while providing leadership, advice, and counsel to supervisors and staff. The end result of such management should always aspire to meet the expectations of delivering high quality, efficient, and compliant patient care that is aligned with the company Policies and Mission.

Requirements

  • College graduate with an emphasis on Business Administration
  • Managerial experience, preferably within the health care industry
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express himself/herself, in writing and orally, with clarity and tact
  • Competency with problem solving, decision-making, delegation, management of multiple projects simultaneously, organization skills, attention to detail, supervision, and staff development
  • Ability to create a team work environment
  • Follows through on projects and tasks
  • Originates and develops new ideas/procedures
  • Demonstrates thoroughness and accuracy
  • Exercises sound judgment in decisions; requires minimum supervision

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred
  • Experience with a fully-integrated medical office software package would be extremely beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understands, reviews and controls a smooth flow of all aspects of practice and practice operations.
  • Creates and implements goals and objectives for the facility.
  • Maintains regulatory standards and standards of conducts as it relates to coding and billing, all state and federal laws.
  • Monitors facility’s benchmarking, statistics, and financial reporting (i.e. accounts receivable, budget projections, wage percentage, operating expenses), recognizes trends and directs necessary changes.
  • Initiates cost savings or revenue producing ideas.
  • Coordinates all hiring of clinical services' personnel, conducts an annual performance evaluation of personnel, performance management, staff development and other staff relations as required.
