About The Position

The Practice Management Leadership Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing field manager development coaching and programming as it relates to practice management. Additionally, this partner will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development among our field managers and helping them embrace needed change in their advisors’ practices. The Practice Management Leadership Consultant will report directly to the Head of Manager Development and Field Management Chief of Staff. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs. Requirements

  • BS/BA with at least 5 years of sales, coaching or management experience in the financial service industry preferred.
  • Ability to travel (70% travel likely) most often within the Regional coverage model.
  • Exemplary communication and consulting skills required.
  • Strong financial advisor relationship management skills.
  • Strong executive presence with skills in presentation development and delivery.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with management team members and Financial Advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain long-term partnerships with Field Managers and senior leaders to foster a strong culture of learning and development, with emphasis on practice management strategies that drive growth, deepen advisor engagement, and improve client relationships.
  • Design and execute practice management and sales growth strategies across multiple lines of business, including driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of practice management tactics.
  • Manage strategic cross-functional relationships with key internal stakeholders to strengthen partnership, improve coordination, and support initiatives that contribute to firm revenue growth.
  • Support enterprise and field initiatives by developing and facilitating training programs and delivering speaking engagements at National, Regional, and Market meetings.
  • Connect managers with external coaching resources by assessing needs and facilitating introductions to appropriate external coaches and partners.
  • Identify and enable cross-partnering opportunities among Field Managers to promote collaboration and drive mutual business growth.
