Practice Management Intern (Public Law & Policy)
About The Position
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Practice Management Intern in our Client Value & Practice Management department, reporting directly to the Director of Practice Management - Public Law & Policy. The Practice Management team is an integral part of the firm focusing on internal and external needs and promoting overall operational efficiency within the Public Law & Policy practice. The Practice Management Intern will have the ability to gain an understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations at a lobbying and law firm with an opportunity for mentorship and professional growth.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, two years of college preferred
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook Word and PowerPoint
- Established attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize among competing tasks under pressure and time constraints
- Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with peers and superiors
- Good judgment and a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and loyalty
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client, firm and office information and adhering to the Firm’s Core Values
Responsibilities
- Support practice management projects by conducting research, compiling data, and creating reports and charts.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking charts, including recruiting lists.
- Update content for internal website.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding team members.
- Format and proofread internal communications and presentations.
- Maintain team calendar.
- Assist with weekly and monthly reporting tasks.
- Assists with other operational/administrative duties as assigned.
