About The Position

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Practice Group Support Assistant for the Litigation practice group. This position will report to the Manager of Legal Practice Support and will be responsible for assisting with a variety of administrative and legal support functions to assist the Commercial Litigation and Enforcement group in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. This position will reside in our Boston, Chicago, Dallas, or Washington D.C office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule which allows you to work collaboratively in the office 3 days and remote 2 days a week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or legal department focusing on litigation strongly preferred
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, organizes and maintains case filings, emails and correspondence
  • Assists with the organization and management of case and client information manually and digitally through the use of electronic databases
  • Coordinates hearings, service of process, filings and calendaring for a high-volume practice, across multiple courts and jurisdictions
  • Performs research for judicial rules and procedures in various courts (State and Federal)
  • Assists practice group with e-filing documents
  • Supports the development and management of case and practice group timelines
  • Assists attorneys and case teams with the preparation and review of various pleadings, discovery and document production materials
  • Distributes draft documents to attorneys and clients
  • Under supervision, assists with day-to-day client management
  • Performs other duties as assigned
