About The Position

This role utilizes the nursing process effectively (assessing the patient and situation, identifying the problem, planning care, and evaluating the outcome). The Practice Clinical Supervisor serves as an expert resource for team members, demonstrating professional skills and abilities, leadership, and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others. This role monitors quality dashboards, identifies patterns and trends, supervises clinical team member scheduling, and coordinates coverage. The supervisor demonstrates knowledge of medication and vaccine administration, carries out physician orders accurately, and monitors medication effects. They participate in interviewing, hiring, and orienting new clinical team members, and monitor and evaluate competency. The role also involves demonstrating knowledge of policies and procedures, organizing emergency drills, and reporting risk management issues. Collaboration with practice leadership for huddles, effective communication, and active listening are key. The supervisor models HRO safety behaviors, follows patient safety goals, and supports participation in Shared Governance to empower clinical team members and improve the work environment. Continuous learning and professional development are encouraged, as is supporting the strategic goals of the practice and the wider Atlantic Health System.   • Coordinates and manages the daily patient care assignments for the clinical team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medication and vaccine administration according to policy.
  • Carries out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitors effects of medications and reports adverse effects in a timely manner.
  • Documents according to AHS policy.
  • Participates in the interviewing, hiring and orientation of new clinical team members.
  • Monitors and evaluates competency of assigned clinical team members upon hire and annually.
  • Participates in performance evaluation process.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures, including but not limited to knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Organizes and schedules regular emergency drills for the department.
  • Identifies and reports all risk management issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with practice leadership to organize regular practice huddles.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and physicians; actively listens and seeks feedback.
  • Utilizes standard precautions including, appropriate isolation techniques.
  • Models all HRO safety behaviors.

  • Promotes evidence-based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
