About The Position

The mission of the Acadiana Area Human Services District is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Acadiana who have behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing department at the Acadiana Area Human Services District/ Dr. Joseph Henry Tyler, Jr Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic in Lafayette, LA. This position will provide specialized nursing treatment and care to behavioral health outpatient individuals. This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Practical Nurse Licensed 1, 2 or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.

Requirements

• Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
• The incumbent is required to possess and maintain the necessary licensure relevant to the assigned CPG level.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized nursing treatment and care to behavioral health outpatient individuals in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AAHSD policies and procedures, State Civil Service, LDH (as applicable), licensing standards, CCBHC guidelines and criteria and CARE accreditation standards.
• Performs individualized direct care/care management to individuals that requires training and competence as well as good clinical judgment necessary to assess, plan, and implement appropriate nursing interventions as needed.
