About The Position

This internship provides real-world project experience while growing talents on a supportive and inclusive team. Thomson Reuters provides information-enabled software to help customers in the legal, tax, accounting, corporate, news, and media fields make decisions that move society forward. This role is part of WayUp’s Top 100 Internship Programs of 2026. The Practical Law division is looking for an intern who has completed their first or second year at an ABA-accredited law school to work with the Capital Markets & Corporate Governance team. In this role, you will support the CMCG editorial team in researching, drafting, and maintaining legal practice resources covering capital markets, securities regulation, corporate governance, and startup/venture matters.

Requirements

  • Completed first or second year at an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and express complex legal material quickly and accurately
  • Impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, consistently meet deadlines, and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects
  • Experience using Westlaw and Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

  • Research current SEC rules, exchange listing standards, and market practice on assigned topics
  • Draft or update Practical Law content (practice notes, standard documents, checklists) under editor supervision
  • Fact-check and cite-check existing resources against primary sources (SEC releases, exchange rules, case law)
  • Track regulatory developments (e.g., SEC rule proposals/adoptions) and flag content impacted
