Reporting to the Director of Rehabilitation, the Rehabilitation Attendant (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) supports the delivery of rehabilitation services by ensuring the availability, cleanliness, safety, and efficient management of therapeutic equipment and supplies. The incumbent contributes to the effective operation of rehabilitation activities through inventory management, equipment lending and tracking, infection prevention and control practices, and logistical support for clinical teams. Under supervision, the attendant may also assist with safe patient transfers and selected therapeutic support activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to safely handle and transport equipment and materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and customer service orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain physiotherapy and occupational therapy treatment areas.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain therapeutic equipment, materials, and treatment spaces in accordance with infection prevention standards.
  • Conduct inventory counts, monitor stock levels, and coordinate supply orders.
  • Prepare, distribute, recover, disinfect, and track equipment loaned to patients and families.
  • Adjust mobility aids such as crutches, walkers, and canes according to clinical instructions.
  • Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties to support rehabilitation department operations.
