About The Position

This person is responsible for accurately performing assigned warehouse tasks including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, wire cutting, light assembly, as well as housekeeping of assigned areas. You will comply with operational, audit, safety and all other company policies. You will operate warehouse equipment including power equipment. You will possess a required understanding of job tasks assigned. As an Operations Associate, your primary responsibility will be focused on picking in addition to accurately performing assigned warehouse tasks such as packing, shipping and light assembly in assigned areas. This is a unionized position.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Hand tool experience required
  • 1 year of warehouse operations preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Follow orientation and safety training courses at the local level.
  • Process incoming shipments.
  • Verify supplier arrivals, customer returns, branch returns and enter order receipts into computer and RF systems.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections.
  • Place received material, after separating backorders, in the appropriate warehouse storage locations. If applicable, move and consolidate material and inform management of new locations.
  • Utilize available computer and RF equipment to stage and put away incoming material.
  • Fill out log sheets for overages, shortages, damages, or non-conforming material.
  • Use a manual or RF process to pick, pack, weigh, and ship products.
  • Prepare and assemble packing lists and bills of lading, generated manually or by the system, for outgoing shipments from suppliers, customers, and branches.
  • Participate in the packing, labeling, packaging, and loading of outgoing trucks.
  • Use the system-generated or manually prepare local delivery records and fill in the corresponding boxes on the pick ticket.
  • Maintain appropriate forms and records while awaiting material return.
  • Verify that return policy guidelines are followed before granting credit for returned material.
  • Remove stock and return it to the site pending credit memo, sale, or return to vendor.
  • Clean the warehouse and parking and truck loading areas.
  • Ensure that safety and security policies are followed.
  • Participate in the placement of products in velocity slots and the rearrangement of bins, shelves, and tables as instructed.
  • Perform work in accordance with established productivity standards.
  • Administer preventive maintenance programs for delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure the proper functioning and safety of warehouse operations.
  • Record verbal and written customer complaints regarding dissatisfaction with a product or service provided.
  • Process complaints according to instructions.
  • Maintain counter stock and assist with counter sales.
  • Participate in warehouse activities as instructed by the supervisor or manager.
  • The work is physically demanding and workers must lift heavy packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The work may require excessive bending or stooping.
  • The employee must walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
  • The employee must use hand tools.
