About The Position

MOR PPM Inc. is seeking qualified Pipe Welders in Salisbury, NC. This role involves executing pipe welding according to welding procedures, specifications, and quality standards. The welder will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and procedures, measuring, cutting, and fabricating material according to specifications, and repairing, installing, or replacing piping or pipe components. The position also includes fabricating and installing piping using various welding techniques (brazing, soldering, tig, mig, stick, and flux core), examining previously installed pipelines for defects, and preparing welding surfaces. Additionally, the role requires communication with the team, customer, and leaders on project status, operating heavy machinery like forklifts, and performing routine maintenance on welding equipment. Adherence to all safety requirements, including LOTO and PPE, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams
  • Have a complete set of tools appropriate for Industrial pipe fitting/welding
  • Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces
  • Perform work at heights
  • Perform and pass pipe coupon weld test
  • At least 4 years Pipe welding preferably in an industrial setting
  • Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically via DocuSign
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces

Responsibilities

  • Examine previously installed pipelines and systems for potential defects
  • Prepare welding surfaces for a welding operation by cutting and shaping materials using hand and power tools
  • Communicate with team, customer, and team leaders on project status and project needs
  • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts to move pipes or materials
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and other task related safety requirements
