About The Position

Powertrain Solutions is a provider of diversified powertrain products and solutions in our three market segments Electric Vehicles (EL), Passenger Cars (PC), and Commercial Vehicles / Off-Road (CV/OR) – from gasoline and diesel injection to electric drives with battery and fuel cell technologies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Software System Design Engineer to join our embedded software development team. As Software System Designer, you are responsible for defining the Software requirements for powertrain control systems for conventional Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (HEV/BEV). You will apply your deep understanding of these control systems in collaboration with the design team and customer to develop, implement, validate and release effective solutions that create a win-win scenario for our customer and our team. Our extensive customer portfolio includes a spectrum of major manufacturers for passenger cars and commercial vehicles including highly advanced technical applications.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Engineering (preferably Computer, Electronic or Automobile engineering)
  • 1-2 years of experience in software development in embedded system or in automotive field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A great attitude to learn and work as a team player.

  • Good powertrain system knowledge (Diesel, Gasoline, Hybrid, Electric Vehicle)
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, presentation and teamwork skills.
  • Capable of working with a variety of scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Customer interface for requirement management and issue resolution.
  • Analyze and clarify customer requirements.
  • Understand the vehicle functionality as a system, in order to propose and develop solutions at a component level.
  • Create and document software design and test plans.
  • Implement and test new functionality in software.
  • Perform design and implementation reviews.
  • Support investigations, separate the customer software issues from Bosch software issues and resolution of customer bug reports.
  • Coordination with our international design, development, integration, and project management team, as well as with our customers.
