About The Position

As a Powertrain Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly of large Caterpillar powertrain components. You will leverage your mechanical experience in combination with your safety focus to produce quality products in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • HET Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required
  • Multiple years’ experience working on heavy equipment powertrain components
  • Understanding of powertrain components and how they function
  • Understanding of proper torquing procedures
  • Capable of operating basic service tools as well as all critical analog measuring devices including dial bore gauges and micrometers
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions
  • Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
  • Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures

  • Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assembling components in the powertrain category in accordance with OEM specifications, standard hours and quality metrics
  • Must be capable of assembling powertrain components with minimal supervision
