About The Position

Under general supervision, the Powerhouse Maintenance Technician will be responsible for operating all equipment associated with the Engine Room. This includes but not limited to doing PM’s, repairing and operation of all refrigeration equipment, air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam, potable water system, temping and chilling hogs to specific temperatures. The team member is also responsible for doing rounds in which all types of readings are taken and recorded for operational purposes. This Team Member needs to able to record any operational changes made in a log and can communicate the changes during turnover with the next shift. This Team Member needs to be able to follow all safety rules which include but not limited to following Tyson core safety mandates, wear PPE, must be able to wear a respirator and be SCBA / HAZMAT certified, clean-shaven and be a member of the hazmat team. This team member must be able to work assigned shifts and weekends and must be able to read and understand manuals, execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet. The Team Member who is awarded this position, Must Maintain Attendance Not to be over 6 pts at any given time., SCBA, APR and Hazmat Team Status. Must not get 2 or more safety infractions and no more than 2 performance disciplines. Daily work will be determined and assigned by supervisor. ALL TEAM MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL DHS BACKGROUND CHECK IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THIS POSTION. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal. Must be able to read write and interpret equipment, general safety procedures, to ensure the safety of our team members.

Requirements

  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • Must be SCBA / HAZMAT certified
  • Must be clean-shaven
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts and weekends
  • Must be able to read and understand manuals
  • Must be able to execute and document work completed on scheduling sheet
  • Must maintain attendance (not to be over 6 pts at any given time, or 3 pts with new UKG policy)
  • Must maintain SCBA, APR and Hazmat Team Status
  • Must not get 2 or more safety infractions
  • Must not get more than 2 performance disciplines
  • Must have a successful DHS background check
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal
  • Must be able to read, write and interpret equipment, general safety procedures
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must complete their 90-day probationary period to be eligible
