About The Position

We're looking for a skilled Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our team and keep things running smoothly — and cold! This role is all about keeping our refrigeration systems and cold storage equipment in top shape — from plumbing to electrical, HVAC to carpentry. Your skills help keep the chill flowing and operations running without a hitch. You'll team up with vendors, customers, and the amazing folks at RW Zant.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
HVAC/Refrigeration required
2-3 years in industrial refrigeration (freon-based systems required)
You know your way around EPA and OSHA safety standards
Bilingual (English/Spanish) requirement
Flexibility for nights, weekends, holidays
Independently lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in addition to climbing stairs and ladders in a refrigerated warehouse environment
Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as ladders, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
Ability to reach above shoulder level
Ability to utilize manual and power tools/equipment.
Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses, steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

Tech courses or related business experience
3-phase electrical experience preferred
Calm under pressure and skilled at juggling multiple requests
Detail-oriented, sharp, and focused
Comfortable using job-related equipment (computers, radios, forklifts, reach trucks, etc.)

Responsibilities

Roll up your sleeves for hands-on preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on freon-based industrial refrigeration systems.
Tackle equipment featuring: Screw compressors, Reciprocating compressors, Semi-hermetic compressors.
Troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs on three-phase and single-phase electrical systems.
Be our go-to responder for emergency service calls (yes, we know things break at odd hours — flexibility is key!).
