About The Position

This is a permanent, unionized position for a Powerhouse Diesel Mechanic. The role involves operating the main power plant and satellite units, performing preventive maintenance, carrying out repairs on generators, lighting towers, and auxiliary equipment, and conducting diagnostics to identify and fix malfunctions. The position requires meeting health and safety requirements and performing other related tasks.

Requirements

• Professional studies diploma (DEP) in diesel mechanics, construction machinery, power generators, or other equivalent experiences.
• Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience or 2000 hours of work in the maintenance or repair of diesel engines/power generators.
• Valid Class 5 driver's License.
• Work with a diverse and multicultural team.
• Demonstrate autonomy, dynamism, positivity, respect, teamwork, and versatility.
• Have the ability to work under pressure and maintain good interpersonal relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Possess the “C” electrical license.
• Work experience with power generators, diesel engines, electricity, electronics, and pressure equipment.
• Good knowledge of MS Office suite software.
• Bilingual (French and functional English).

Responsibilities

• Operates the main power plant and satellite units.
• Performs preventive maintenance work on generators, lighting towers, and auxiliary equipment.
• Carries out repairs on generators, tower lights, and auxiliary equipment.
• Conducts diagnostics to determine the origin of a malfunction, repairs it, and restores equipment to service.
• Meet the company's health and safety requirements and recommendations.
• Performs other related tasks associated with the position.
