About The Position

The Maschhoffs, the largest family-owned hog production network in North America, is currently hiring multiple shift Power Washers at the Jacksonville IL Truck Wash. This role involves flushing and power washing livestock trailers, inspecting them for cleanliness and defects, and ensuring compliance with safety and company protocols. The position requires working in various environmental conditions, including outdoors, and may involve irregular work schedules and exposure to noise and vibration.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of Bio-Security precautions relating to pork production facilities.
• Knowledge of Transport power washer SOP.
• Skill in washing equipment with high powered washers
• Skill in hooking/unhooking various commercial Trucks/trailer units raise and lower the landing gear, operate the 5th wheel release lever.
• Skill in climbing ladders of different design to access locations.
• Skill in manually handling material and equipment requiring a lifting/handling force up to 50-75 pounds.
• Ability to lift & pulling up to 50 to 75 pounds
• Ability to handle exposure dust, noise, odors, and temperature extremes.
• Ability to operate power washer
• Ability to stand / stoop and remain alert for an aggregate period of up to 11 hours with a 1 hour break.
• Ability to perform squatting, kneeling, bending and climbing during the wash process.
• Ability to properly enter and exit the vehicle’s 10 to 20 times per day.
• Ability to use a shovel to move and/or clean a load of material.
• Ability to occasionally reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level for maneuvering and directing the controls.
• Ability to spend at least 10% of the day standing and 90% of the day working on surfaces such as concrete, metal and on slippery and wet surfaces.

Nice To Haves

• One year power washing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Flush the inside of a livestock trailer using a 1” high volume hose.
• Power wash the entire trailer including gates, ramps, ceilings, I-beams and floors with a turbo tip power washer.
• Inspects the truck/trailers for cleanliness and any defects that may affect the safety of the animals and reports any defects to the Truck wash Supervisor.
• Complies with all company requirements on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reports all accidents and/or work related injuries (regardless of severity) to the appropriate manager including Safety Team.
• Effectively communicates with team members and managers.
• Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
