About The Position
The Power Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aeroderivative gas turbine generator packages and associated auxiliary systems. This highly mobile role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and control system expertise. This role requires extensive domestic and international travel, work in industrial environments, long hours including weekends and holidays, and the ability to lift and handle heavy tools and equipment.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in power plant maintenance or turbine field service.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred.
- Strong experience with aeroderivative gas turbines and generator sets.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Valid driver’s license and valid passport required.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission generator package modules including turbines, generators, and control systems.
- Perform start-up checks, testing, and grid synchronization.
- Conduct preventative maintenance including lubrication, filter changes, borescope inspections, and hot-section replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Operate and troubleshoot turbine control systems.
- Complete work orders, document repairs, and update maintenance records.
- Adhere strictly to EHS and LOTO procedures.
- Provide mobile service support including emergency and off-hours response.
- Assist with engineering documentation such as P&IDs and schematics.
- Coordinate with suppliers and mentor junior technicians.
