About The Position

Responsible for the Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop. This includes responsibility for all units such as generators, compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, and distribution equipment. Key duties involve unit check-in/check-out, ensuring unit readiness (functional and appearance), and performing basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The role also requires providing exceptional customer service, delivering and assisting with loading/unloading project components on job sites, and coordinating with external service and parts sources for unit repairs. Completing all necessary rental documentation for customer and internal records is also a core function. This position may perform other related duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • Computer literacy required.
  • Must be familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and various CAT Programs.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills are needed.
  • Must take initiative, be team oriented and willing to adapt to change.
  • Ability to respond to callouts, work overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are required.
  • Must have your own basic tools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays when required to support business and customer needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • No more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of formal technical training program or minimum of three years’ relevant experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a field related to electronic diesel engines, fuel systems, generators, air compressors, heaters, air conditioning etc. is preferred.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop.
  • Responsible for all units (generators and other types of equipment such as: compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, distribution and more).
  • Responsible for rental fleet unit check in & check out, unit readiness (functional runs and appearance), and basic troubleshooting/preventative maintenance.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers to ensure we’re meeting their expectations.
  • Deliver and assist with loading & unloading project components on the customer’s job site.
  • Assist with set up, basic troubleshooting and repairs if needed.
  • Coordinate with other service & part sources (Non-CAT specific) when needing to order certain unit parts or services to repair/fix returned fleet units.
  • Complete rental documentation for customer’s unit status.
  • Responsible for completing rental paperwork for Power Systems records and maintaining unit status.
  • May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
