About The Position

Responsible for the Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop. This includes responsibility for all units such as generators, compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, and distribution equipment. The role involves managing the check-in and check-out of rental fleet units, ensuring their readiness in terms of functionality and appearance, and performing basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The technician will also provide exceptional customer service by communicating with customers to ensure their expectations are met, and will deliver and assist with loading/unloading project components on customer job sites. Additionally, the role requires assisting with setup, basic troubleshooting, and repairs as needed, coordinating with external service and parts sources for unit repairs, and completing all necessary rental documentation for customer and internal records.

Requirements

• Computer literacy required. Must be familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and various CAT Programs.
• Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
• Excellent planning & organizational skills are needed.
• Must take initiative, be team oriented and willing to adapt to change.
• Ability to respond to callouts, work overtime and weekends when needed.
• Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are required.
• Must have your own basic tools.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays when required to support business and customer needs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Nice To Haves

• Completion of formal technical training program or minimum of three years’ relevant experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a field related to electronic diesel engines, fuel systems, generators, air compressors, heaters, air conditioning etc. is preferred.
• CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop.
• Responsible for all units (generators and other types of equipment such as: compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, distribution and more).
• Responsible for rental fleet unit check in & check out, unit readiness (functional runs and appearance), and basic troubleshooting/preventative maintenance.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers to ensure we’re meeting their expectations.
• Deliver and assist with loading & unloading project components on the customer’s job site.
• Assist with set up, basic troubleshooting and repairs if needed.
• Coordinate with other service & part sources (Non-CAT specific) when needing to order certain unit parts or services to repair/fix returned fleet units.
• Complete rental documentation for customer’s unit status.
• Responsible for completing rental paperwork for Power Systems records and maintaining unit status.
• May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
